Makhana bhel recipe
Many nutritious Makhana keeps you energetic for a long time. Apart from roasted Makhana, people also eat it by putting it in vegetable or kheer. Ingredients
3 cups of Makhana
2 tablespoons desi ghee
1 tsp dry mango powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
3 tablespoons Roasted Peanuts
1 finely chopped large tomato
1 finely chopped green chili
2 tablespoons green chutney
1 Tablespoon Tamarind Chutney
2 tablespoons cucumber pieces (finely chopped)
2 tablespoons apple pieces (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
(If you are making Makhana bhel for fast then you can use rock salt and do not add turmeric, red chilli powder and mango powder. You can add green chilli and lemon juice if you want)
Method
1. Heat ghee in a pan and fry Makhane in it. Fry the Makhane in a low flame till it becomes crispy.
2. While frying the Makhane, add turmeric powder and mango powder to them. If you eat rock salt during the fast, you can also add it while frying.
3. Now take out the fried makhanas and keep them aside and let them cool down a bit.
4. After this, add roasted peanuts, finely chopped tomatoes and green chilies to the makhanas and mix them well. (If you roast peanuts first then you will save time)
5. Then add green chutney and tamarind chutney to this mixture. (Do not enter if you do not eat chutney in the fast)
6. Now add finely chopped cucumbers and apple pieces in Makhana bhel. You can also add other fruits of your choice.
Makhana bhel is ready. Serve in a plate, bowl or paper cone. It can be garnished with coriander leaves and namkeen.
